Alfonso Cuesta is an Associate in the Firm’s Corporate group. Since joining PMA in 2014, Alfonso has worked on wide array of real estate and general corporate matters. His real estate experience includes assisting developers in virtually all aspects of the development and day-to-day operations of resort projects and banks in the management and disposition of other real estate owned properties, from both the transactional and advisory standpoints. In connection with such engagements, he has also advised clients with respect to a broad range of regulatory matters such as those relating to real property brokerage, consumer protection, advertising and privacy. Alfonso has also represented sellers, purchasers, landlords and tenants in complex commercial and residential real estate transactions, with particular emphasis on tourist developments, office buildings and renewable energy projects.
In addition to his real estate practice, he has advised technology companies with respect to the provision of services and the distribution and sale of products in the Puerto Rico market. He has also advised clients on matters related to the recent easement of U.S. restrictions on doing business in Cuba, including which kinds of commercial activity in Cuba are now permitted.
Prior to joining PMA Alfonso participated in the Firm’s Summer Associate Program. Before that, he graduated from the University of Puerto Rico’s School of Law and from Syracuse University’s Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, majoring in International Relations and Russian and Central European Studies.
