Fernando focuses his practice on representing clients in civil and commercial litigation matters before Puerto Rico’s state and federal courts and in administrative and alternative dispute resolution proceedings. During his career as a civil and commercial litigator, Fernando has represented financial institutions, distributors, manufacturers, insurance companies, construction developers, telecommunication companies, hospitals, universities, public corporations, non-profit organizations, entrepreneurs, business executives and individuals in civil and commercial litigation matters involving the following areas: breach of contract, business torts, distributorship agreements, securities, product liability, banking, consumer affairs, labor and employment, debt collection, corporate affairs, shareholders and partnership disputes, civil fraud, taxes, telecommunications, real estate, personal injury, medical malpractice, construction and other civil and commercial litigation areas. Fernando has also represented clients in pre-litigation negotiations and mediation proceedings. He is admitted to practice before all trial and appellate courts of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the United States District Court for the District of Puerto Rico, the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit and the United States Supreme Court.
