Ms. Betancourt joined the firm’s Corporate Practice Group in 2021. She obtained her Juris Doctor from the University of Puerto Rico School of Law, graduating Magna Cum Laude.

Prior to formally joining the firm, Ms. Betancourt partook in PMA’s Summer Associate Program. While completing her Juris Doctor, she worked as a research and teacher assistant to Professor Guillermo Figueroa Prieto, on civil, ethics and professional responsibility matters. Ms. Betancourt completed a year of supervised practice at the Intellectual Property Legal Aid Clinic of the University of Puerto Rico, an authorized law school clinic of the United States Patent and Trademark Office’s (USPTO) Law School Clinic Certification Program. During her law school years, she was an active member and spokesperson of the Intellectual Property and Startups Pro Bono Program.

Ms. Betancourt has a master’s degree in Ethics and Public Policy from Suffolk University, Boston, MA. She worked in the financial services industry as a regulatory and compliance professional for State Street Corporation, where she served as the coordinator and liaison of the Compliance and Ethics Committee. Ms. Betancourt received her undergraduate degree in Political Science from the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras Campus, graduating Magna Cum Laude
