Ms. Canino Zayas joined the firm’s Corporate Practice Group in 2023. She obtained her Juris Doctor from the University of Puerto Rico School of Law, graduating Magna Cum Laude and receiving the distinction of Highest GPA of her class in Commercial Law. Prior to formally joining the firm, Ms. Canino partook in PMA’s Summer Associate Program for two consecutive years.

While completing her Juris Doctor, she worked as research assistant to Professor Luis Muñiz Argüelles and Dean Emeritus Antonio García Padilla, on Property Law and Secured Transactions matters, respectively. She assisted in the research and editing of the Real Property treatise, Luis Muñiz Argüelles, Lecciones sobre Derechos Reales (2023) and on the Personal Property treatise, Antonio García Padilla, El UCC en Puerto Rico (to be published). She was also an active member of the University of Puerto Rico Law Review, serving as Associate Editor, Senior Editor and Associate Director for Volumes XC, XCI and XCII, respectively.

Ms. Canino has a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering and a minor in Business Administration from Northeastern University, Boston, MA. During her undergraduate studies, she worked in the manufacturing, pharmaceutical and biotech industry as a student process engineer and researcher for various companies in the Greater Boston Area.
