In the area of food, wine and spirits, we represent principals, distributors, manufacturers, bottlers, distillers, wholesalers, importers, exporters, and retailers in all aspects of their operations. We advise our clients in this highly regulated field, to ensure that they comply with federal and local regulatory requirements. We also work closely with the federal Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), the Alcoholic Beverages and Licenses Division of the Department of the Treasury of Puerto Rico, and other federal and local agencies to ensure that our clients obtain all applicable permits, licenses, label and formula approvals, and other authorizations required for their business. We also provide counsel to our clients and assist them in structuring, negotiating and obtaining special excise tax classifications for alcoholic beverages.

Our clients in the food, wine and spirits industry also take advantage of our expertise in other areas such as Act 75 principal-distributor issues, licensing, tax exemption and incentive laws, excise and other tax issues, rum cover over issues, trademarks and other intellectual property, mergers and acquisitions, antitrust, real estate and land use, government affairs, administrative law, and litigation, as such issues arise in and apply to their respective businesses.
