Ms. Izquierdo Fortuño joined PMA’s Corporate Practice Group in 2023 after graduating from the University of Puerto Rico School of Law. While in law school, she was a research assistant for Professor William Vázquez Irizarry, Administrative Law Professor, and research assistant for the U.P.R. Center for Innovation and Commercialization, University of Puerto Rico’s early business hub, under the supervision of Manuel Lobato-Vico, Economics professor, and Javier Rodríguez, Business Administration Professor. She was also a Fellow of the Center for the Advancement of Wearable Technologies (CAWT), a program funded by the National Science Foundation. Sara presided over the Federal Bar Association, U.P.R. Chapter, in 2022-2023, and was a mentor for a wearable technology start-up company in the i-Corps Program by Grupo Guayacán in 2023. Concurrent with her legal studies, she served as a writer for the University of Puerto Rico Law Review 91st Volume and as a Communication Officer Volunteer for the American Red Cross.
Prior to enrolling in law school, Sara worked as an Account Executive at De la Cruz, a local advertising firm affiliated with Ogilvy, and as a writer for various magazine, newspaper, and blog publications.
Ms. Izquierdo Fortuño received an undergraduate degree in Communication Studies and Political Science from Ohio University’s Honors Tutorial College in 2019. Ms. Izquierdo prepared and defended a 24-credit honors thesis, which consisted of a year-long investigation in Aceh, Indonesia. In tandem, she served as the Minority Affairs Commissioner at the Ohio University Student Senate and Finance Vice President of the Alpha Delta Pi Sorority.
